The Asian Australasian Advanced Course in Paediatric Neurosurgery (AAACPN) was born of a vision to establish a worldwide course that would foster the development of pediatric neurosurgery through the education and training of residents and practicing neurosurgeons. AAACPN has the endorsement of the World Federation of Neurological Surgeons and the Asian Australasian Society of Pediatric Neurosurgery.

The 16th AAACPN, the third part of the 5th cycle of the AAACPN will be held in HsinChu, Taiwan from October 31 to November 3, 2019. The main themes of this course include spinal dysraphism, Chiari malformation, craniosynostosis, vascular diseases, craniovertebral junction anomalies, spinal cord tumors, and sellar and suprasellar tumors.

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

On behalf of Taiwan Society for Pediatric Neurosurgery (TSPN), it is my great honor to welcome you to participate in the Sixteenth Asian-Australasian Advanced Course in Paediatric Neurosurgery (AAACPN), which will be held at the HsinChu Sheraton Hotel, Zhu-Bei City, HsinChu County, Taiwan from October 31 to November 3, 2019.

After Inaugural Meeting for founding of the Asia-Australia Society of Pediatric Neurosurgery (AASPN) in Taipei, 2015, the society takes the privilege of hosting AAACPN and held the course at The Vedic Village Resort, Kolkatta, India in 2016, Taicang, China in 2017, The∙K Hotel SEOUL, Seoul, Korea in 2017 and Mito, Japan in 2018. Ten years after the course hosted by Professor Tai-Tong Wong in Taipei in 2008, we are honored to hold this training course again in Taiwan.

The 3rd year of 5th cycle course will present important themes of pediatric neurosurgery through different forms of lectures, case discussions, solve a problem, hand-on, etc. In addition, through this connection, we look forward to strengthening friendship and expanding cooperation with each other.
